Help & Support
Manage your account, adjust your settings, and troubleshoot any issues with Portility.
Account & Sign-in
A Google account is required to use Portility. Signing in with Google unlocks all functionality, and syncs your saved profile data securely. Portility is currently free to use in beta — every feature is unlocked for signed-in users.
You can sign in or out at any time from the extension's Settings page.
Settings
Access Settings anytime by clicking the gear icon in the Portility popup. From here you can manage:
Image Quality Premium feature
Compress images for destination — reduces image size before sending it to the destination, saving tokens at the cost of some image detail. Turn this on for faster answers and less AI use; turn it off for image work where you want to preserve full fidelity.
Port Text Mode Premium feature
Summarize text — when enabled, generates an AI summary instead of porting the full conversation text.
Port My Profile
Manage your AI operating instructions and profiles. Use the Manage Port My Profile button to create, edit, or switch between profiles.
Second Opinion History
Your last 20 comparisons are stored locally. Use the View History button to revisit any of them.
Billing Coming soon
Manage your subscription and payment details from here once paid tiers launch.
Backup Coming soon
Back up assets to Google Drive — when enabled, copies of your images and files are saved to a Google Drive folder as backup. You must be signed in to your Google account.
Troubleshooting
"This page isn't supported" or the Portility icon doesn't do anything
Portility only works on the conversation pages of claude.ai, chatgpt.com, and gemini.google.com. Make sure you're on an active conversation (not a blank homepage) and try refreshing the tab.
A feature looks locked
Make sure you're signed in — Second Opinion and Port My Profile require a Google sign-in. If you're already signed in and still see a lock, try signing out and back in from Settings.
Export or Second Opinion doesn't seem to work
Refresh the page and try again. If the conversation is very long or contains images/attachments, processing may take a few extra seconds.
Sign-in isn't working
Make sure pop-ups aren't blocked for the sign-in window, and that you're signed into the correct Google account in your browser.
