Frequently Asked Questions
Everything else you might be wondering about.
No. Portility works with free and paid accounts on any of the supported AI models. You don't need a premium subscription to any of them to use Portility's tools.
Yes — right now, during BetaAccess, every tool is free to use. Down the road, Portility will move to a paid model, but you're getting full access at no cost while we're in early access.
Portility works across Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini — so you can port a conversation, apply a profile, or get a second opinion no matter which of these you're using.
Yes — you'll sign in with your Google account. This keeps setup quick and lets Portility securely save your profiles and preferences.
Not currently. Portility is a Chrome extension built for desktop use, so it works wherever you're using Chrome on a computer.
Asking two AIs the same question means retyping your question and losing all the back-and-forth context that got you there. Second Opinion sends your actual conversation — as it happened — to a second model, then scores how much the two responses agree and shows you exactly where they align and where they diverge. It's not a repeat of the question; it's a review of the answer.
It depends on the tool. Copying a chat to your clipboard or saving it as a text file never touches Portility's servers — the content passes through a quick safety check and then stays on your device. Summarizing a chat and Second Opinion do send your conversation to Portility's servers to generate the result, but that content is discarded immediately after processing — it's never stored or logged.
No — Portility is built to be as transparent as possible. For Port My Chat and Port My Profile, you can always click to expand the Ported Chat window and see exactly what instructions and content were passed to the new AI. Nothing happens silently.
